In order to strengthen the supervision and management of the laboratory offal, ensure the good scientific research environment of Zhongguancun Bio-medicine Garden and guard the health of the staff, this regulation was specially made according to" Law on Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China "

I. The laboratory offal in the Zhongguancun Bio-medicine Garden is classified to manage.

A: offal in the national registration of relevant hazardous waste;

B: General offal in the laboratory;

C: rubbish.

II ． Every enterprise must register the kind , the handling measure and quantity of possible Chemical Offal to the administrative department of the property ahead of time. Anything in the research project adjusted should be reported to administrative department of the property in time.

III. Enterprises should treat laboratory A offal according to country requirement carry on pretreatment and with accord with national packaging, container of requirement ,etc., and tell the content , craft dealt with of the offal, etc., on the label , preserve in the regular position of the laboratory .

IV. Every workday 16: 30-17: 00, the administrative department of the property will go to every laboratory to collect the A offal, and deal with it in unison. The laboratory A offal in the laboratory forbids abandoning at will.

V. The laboratory B offal are liquid, so it need pretreatment such as neutralization, deactivation ,etc. in every unit, then to be discarded to the special-purpose sewer. The solid offal should be put into disposal bags and sealed up for safekeeping, then labeled it with the offal name and pretreatment, etc., finally put it into special-purpose dustbins in the bathroom. The property administrative department will make follow-up treatment in unison.

VI. The laboratory C offal can be put in unison in the special-purpose dustbin of the bathroom, and will be cleared regularly by the administrative department of the property.

VII. Experiments which may produce harmful gas must be made in the fume hood. Experiments using or producing gas should be made with the fume hood open and the laboratory door closed.

VIII. The property administrative department of Zhongguancun Bio-medicine Garden will carry on a unified inspection live on the implementation. The administrative department of the property will rectify some actions of violating the regulation of management; for accidents, the responsibility of relevant enterprises will be investigated.
